Bill Murray is back in a subtle and engaging comedy about an aging movie star who travels to Tokyo to shoot a lucrative whiskey commercial. Murray?s character humorously endures the indignity of inane commercial dialogue and bizarre promotional appearances. Unable to sleep in the large techno modern hotel, he befriends a young, beautiful unhappily married woman (played glowingly by Scarlett Johansson) who is also suffering her own case of alienation and jet lag. Their friendship unfolds against the neon nightlife of Tokyo resulting in a fresh, comical and very original film.
Bill Murray is flat-out hilarious. He and Scarlett Johansson give performances that will be talked about for years... a film that will knock you out. - Peter Travis, Rolling Stone
