Director Ondi Timoner made Sundance history this year when she became the first director to win two Grand Jury Prizes, one for We Live in Public and one for Dig! in 2004. In this film, Timoner offers a fascinating ten-year chronicle of internet pioneer Josh Harris as he launched an art experiment involving more than 100 artists living in an underground bunker in New York City. This artificial society lived in pods under 24-hour surveillance in what was essentially a human terrarium. After 30 days, the project was busted by FEMA and soon thereafter Harris turned the cameras on his own personal life in a new experiment that ultimately backfired. Timoner couples Harris?s footage from his exhibitions with rousing v?rit? of her own. The result is a fascinating, sexy, yet cautionary tale where we all become Big Brother.
