Winner for numerous Oscars, including Best Picture and the winner of a Golden Globe for Best Picture, many consider this the most original film of the year. The film starts in 1927, the glamorous silent film era of Hollywood. George Valentin is a silent movie superstar known around the world. Talking pictures are on the horizon and are about to change the movie business forever. For the young, vivacious extra, Peppy Miller, it seems the sky's the limit -- major movie stardom awaits. Her mentor, George, is unable to cope with the new technology, loses his way, but is saved by her love. This is the funny, endearing, crowd-pleasing story of their interlinked destinies.
