Starring Edward Norton, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, this is a story about a husband and wife who learn valuable lessons about love, life, and sacrifice in this romantic drama based on a novel by W. Somerset Maugham. The story takes place in 1925 and is beautifully photographed in one of China?s most picturesque valleys. A doctor and his young wife have moved to the countryside to help with a cholera epidemic. The hardships of their lives and of the rural people makes a striking impact on the couple, giving them a new and deeper perspective of each other.
